Silver New Zealand Kiwi Coins
Over the last three years the New Zealand Post has released a limited edition 3 coin series to celebrate New Zealands most loved native icon the kiwi, a different design has been issued annually from 2009 till 2011 celebrating the uniqueness of New Zealand with the kiwi bird. The Silver Bullion and Silver Proof Kiwi coins are minted at BH Mayer’s Kunstprägeanstalt GmbH. With no more than 12,500 BU bullion coins will be minted and an even smaller number of proof coins released for collectors. The 2009 design features the New Zealand kiwi and stylised map, the 2010 design features the Symbolic kiwi with the Southern Cross, and the 2011 design has the New Zealand kiwi and silver fern together. Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II was designed by Ian Rank Broadley. The Silver Proof versions of the coin come in a clam case with outer box and a certificate of authenticity for each coin.
