Silver Koala Coins
The Silver Koala bullion coin is produced and released by the Australian Perth Mint, the Koala was first minted and issued in 2007. The Koala series of silver bullion coins has become a very popular release for collectors since it initial release due to its low mintage. Koala coins released are minted with a .999 silver purity making these coins very desirable for collectors and investors.
Coin Designs on the Silver Koala
Each released silver Koala bullion coin has the image of the iconic Australian koala bear on the reverse side of the coin, which changes annually with a different design being released by the Perth Mint for the coin. The observe side of the silver Koala coin has the image of Queen Elizabeth II, a design which has been engraved by mint engraver Ian Rank Broadley.
The Koala coins have been minted and released in a four different sizes and weights, 1/2oz, 1oz, 10oz and a 1kg silver bullion coin. The Perth Mint has also began minting a much smaller 1/10oz Koala bullion coin to add to this very popular coin series. All Koala’s released are minted to .999 silver purity making the Koala coin very collectable and a good investment coin.
