The Canadian wildlife series which features six silver bullion coins which have been released by the Royal Canadian Mint (RCM), has now come to an end with the release of it sixth and final silver bullion coin the Canadian wood bison. The Canadian wildlife series features reverse designs of the diverse array of animal wildlife that can be encountered in Canada’s vast landscape.
Each coin released in this series is a full 1 troy oz .9999 silver bullion coin, and has a face value of $5. Reverse inscriptions on each of the coins released include CANADA and 9999 FINE SILVER 1 OZ ARGENT PUR. All coins in the series are struck at the Royal Canadian Mint’s Ottawa facility and to the same standards as the popular Silver Maple Leaf Bullion Coins.
With a mintage release of up to 1,000,000 bullion coins per coin design, the Canadian wildlife series has been very popular among both investors and collectors of silver coins. Each coin in this series shares the same obverse design, the Susanna Blunt effigy of Queen Elizabeth II.

Canadian Wolf Coin – Senior Mint Engraver William Woodruff designed the image of the wolf standing on a snowy ridge with trees and the full moon in the background of the coin.
Canadian Grizzly Coin – The mature grizzly bear is the animal which appears on this second release, the bear is stands on all fours near the edge of a body of water with a mountainous terrain in the background. this coin design was by William Woodruff.
Canadian Cougar Coin – The third animal in this series, features the cougar which is also known as the mountain lion or puma. The cougar is climbing over a tree branch in front of a rocky background. Again this the coin features a design by William Woodruff.
Canadian Moose Coin – The Canadian moose is featured on this fourth coin release, with a detailed image of the animal standing in native vegetation. Like the previous designs this is another William Woodruff designed reverse.
Canadian Pronghorn Antelope Coin – The fifth coin in this popular series is by mint designer Emily S. Damstra. The coin features the pronghorn antelope is walking through a pasture.
Canadian Wood Bison Coin – The sixth and final coin in this series is the Canadian wood bison, this final design will be by mint designer Emily S. Damstra.
